Putting the audience first

People Ignore Design That Ignores People is a 12-page risograph-printed booklet I designed as a handout when I was invited back to give a talk at my old university course.

The name is a quote from Frank Chimero, and the publication features five more quotes from other designers focusing on putting the audience at the heart of everything you create.

Keeping it direct

The designers’ quotes are presented opposite photographs of desire lines – paths in the grass worn down by pedestrians – to illustrate that the audience won’t always follow what’s expected of them, especially if there’s an easier way.
